Today was a beautiful morning to serve those who came for breakfast. The main focus of our time in the park is developing and building relationships. Over the past nine months, we have met and gotten to know many precious people. These same folks now expect us to be in the park, whether or not they are. As a result, we are always very excited to see a friend who has been gone for a few weeks. Today as soon as we pulled up, we saw Anna, who hasn’t come in awhile. We were able to rejoice with her as she shared news of her new job. Also, our friend Michael came back today. It was such a blessing to see him as well. In addition to Anna and Michael, numerous other regulars joined us. We appreciate God’s graciousness in giving us the opportunity to check in with our friends.

Today was the largest crowd we’ve had to date. During the first 25 minutes, we served 60-plus muffins and cups of cheese grits with bacon. (And the people kept coming!) As always, God ensured that we had enough food for those who needed it. There were also many who gathered in the circle for the scripture reading and prayer time. The verse today was from Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The team member who presented the devotion shared about the hope that is available through Jesus Christ, a hope that transcends our circumstances. Please continue to pray with us for these precious people, that they will come to know Christ as their Savior and that their physical needs will be met. Thank you for supporting Grace’s Kitchen!
