About Us
Grace’s Kitchen is the calling on the lives of two Birmingham, Alabama women who desire to follow in obedience. The idea was born on a mission trip while serving in a feeding kitchen for the homeless and has grown from a concept to a plan of action. In October 2009, Grace’s Kitchen began serving breakfast once a week on the streets of downtown Birmingham and seeks to provide fresh, healthy food to anyone who needs a meal. Only God knows what Grace’s Kitchen will eventually look like, but we trust Him alone for guidance and direction as we proceed. Our heart’s desire is for Grace’s Kitchen to provide physical nourishment for the body and spiritual nourishment for the soul. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 we find the foundation for this ministry: “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” This is how we want to live our lives, accepting God's grace by acknowledging our weaknesses. We will be feeding people who are hungry, but more than anything want them to accept the grace of God—it's truly life changing. We also understand and recognize that we can't sustain Grace's Kitchen on our own and covet your prayers as we embark on this journey to follow where He leads. We desire to give God the glory and honor He so rightly deserves.
