The Long Term Vision
The long-term vision for Grace’s Kitchen is a nonprofit restaurant that operates on a pay-as-you-can model. We believe that God has called us to feed people, and we see the restaurant as being the central location of that activity. Since God called us to begin this ministry on mission trip to Louisville, Kentucky, in June 2009, He has made it abundantly clear that this is what He desires us to do. We envision a mobile feeding unit as part of the ministry, which will enable us to continue distributing food on the streets of Birmingham. We will feed anyone who needs a meal—including those who are homeless, struggling families, elderly people on fixed incomes, and anyone else God brings our way. We desire to make the restaurant a place where people will desire to eat and where the hungry will be served with dignity and respect. Everyone who eats at Grace's Kitchen will be offered the same choices and treatment, no matter what they are able to pay. More than anything, we want God to be glorified through this restaurant and the people we serve to know and experience the love of Jesus Christ.
