Last night while serving dinner at Changed Lives Christian Center, the Lord demonstrated His faithfulness in the small detail of what Grace’s Kitchen does. We are thankful for those who wrap plastic flatware in napkins and tie on encouraging verses for us to use as we serve. This is a tedious, repetitive task, but it is worth it! Here’s why. One man, Kevin, came up to me after receiving his food to tell me a story about the verse that was on his flatware. He said that earlier in the day he had been struggling with the poor decisions in his past and was completely overwhelmed at the mess he had made. However, in Kevin’s remembrance of the past, the Lord reminded him that he is now a new creation and that mess doesn’t define him anymore. The Father brought this verse from Isaiah 26:3 to his mind: “You keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Imagine Kevin’s excitement when he picked up his flatware and Isaiah 26:3 was attached! He knew it was the Lord’s confirmation of His words. This is not a coincidence! It is an example of our Lord’s faithfulness and how He works through anything to show love to His children. Thank you to everyone who serves by tying encouraging verses on flatware! Kevin and so many others are grateful for how the Lord works through you and through His living and active Word. Soli Deo Gloria!
